Glanmire GAA Awards Night on the 17th November
The annual Glanmire GAA awards night will take place on Thursday 17th November in BK2 at 7pm.
The night will kick off with a 3 course meal followed by the awards ceremony. As well as medal presentations for all of this year’s successful teams throughout the adult Mens and Ladies sections, there will be various Player of the Year awards handed out on the night. These awards will be chosen by the players on the night and this always ensures great excitement at the end of the awards presentation. These awards will be presented by our special guests and the ceremony will be followed by entertainment and a chance to reminisce on what has been a great year for the club as a whole.
All players and mentors of each team are expected to attend and partners, parents and supporters are more than welcome to join in the festivities for the evening.

Glanmire 1-6 Lisgoold 1-10
The Junior A’s Championship campaign came to an end last night after a 1-10 to 1-6 defeat at the hands of Lisgoold. Played in glorious conditions in Carrigtwohill, Glanmire lead at the interval by two points after Martin Connolly slotted home a penalty. the second half was a different affair, as Glanmire’s scoring chances were limited against a determined and relentless Lisgoold outfit. The game was on a tightrope until Lisgoold themselves scored a penalty followed by some late scores to see them advance to play Ballinacurra In the East Cork Quarter Final.
Many thanks must be given to Paul Kingston, Gabriel McCarthy, Ed Hartnett and Chris Cummins for all their hard work in training the team for the year.
Junior Football Championship
The Junior football team continue their Championship campaign tomorrow evening when they face Lisgoold in the 3rd round in Carrigtwohill at 6.30pm. Having lost to them earlier this year in league, Glanmire look to overturn their fortunes on this occasion and advance to the quarter final of the East Cork Championship.

Glanmire junior A footballers got back to winning ways against Ballinacurra in the league tonight in Sallybrook. Impressive performances from Cathal O’Connor, Barry O’Sullivan and the versatile Eoin Whooley enabled Glanmire to ground out a win.

Glanmire 1-09 Glenbower Rovers 1-13
Glanmire junior footballers lost to a Joe Deane inspired Glenbower Rovers in the East Cork Junior Football Championship on Sunday last in Rostellan. Glanmire built up a healthy lead in the opening 30 minutes and lead by 5 points at half time. However, the Killeagh side came back strongly in the second half and with the aid of a soft goal powered on to win by 4 points. Glanmire had Graham Murray sent off for two yellow cards.
Kieran Sheehan, Barry O’Sullivan, Cian Harrington and Kieran Kenneally performed best for Glanmire on a disappointing afternoon. The draw for the next round took place after the game and Glanmire got a bye to the 3rd round, where they will face Lisgoold.
