The Intermediate team were in action in 2 games this week. On Thursday night Mayfield were the opponents in Sallybrook, the challenge match ended 2-14 to 1-13 in favour of our opponents. On Saturday morning, Glanmire played Youghal in a league match in glorious conditions in Copper Alley. The match ended in favour of Youghal on the scoreline of 3-11 to 0-11, again proving the cliche “goals win games” to be true. The team in their entirity tried their utmost, but just did not perform on the day. any dissappointment must now be overcome as Killavullen are the next opposition in Championship next Friday night.
On a brighter note, our minor team defeated Mitchelstown in Non exam league which confirmed their advancement into the latter stages of the competition with players such as Brian Kelleher, Darragh O’Rourke, Conor Power and Adam Brennan preforming well. They complete the group phase of the league on Tuesday night when they play away to Carrigaline with a 7.30pm throw in.
